Day 01 Arrive Delhi
Arrival at new Delhi Airport / Station. You will be met on arrival and transfer to your hotel.
Day 02 Delhi
After Breakfast you will be visiting Qutb-minar, although in new Delhi , is a monument of the 12th century and rises elegantly within the mosque complex qutb - ul - Islam. Old Delhi was one of the capitals during the mughal dynasty. The red fort and Asia's biggest mosque jama masjid are amidst bustling lanes right out of the medie vial age. an overnight train takes us to bikaner . Overnight in Train.
Day 03 Arrive Bikaner
Breakfast at hotel. Bikaner lies at the edge of the thar desert . The Rajputs built a huge palace seen from a far distance by caravans which crossed the desert with their valuable goods A unique camel breeding farm is set within the sand dunes and as the sunsets we watch the camels return against a burning red sky. Day 04 Bikaner - Jaisalmer
After breakfast, A long drive through a picturesque landscape an colourful villages offers us many images of the calm peaceful , simple but proud life of different rajput clans and the silent beauty of the desert . Every now and then we pass sari-clad women elegantly balancing heavy water pots on their heads and maybe even a camel caravan, though these are becoming fewer year by year. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05 Jaisalmer
Today after breakfast, we venture out into Jaisalmer on a very distinct mode of transport - high up on majestic camels in the narrow cobbled alleys - no wider than a streched arm - cluster the havelis or the mansions of the rich , with stone carving and lattice work of breathtaking intricacy . Their balconies jutting out from either side of the lanes almost touch overhead. The fort, built on the highest point of the tricuta hill, has been named oasis of jaisal by the travelers on the caravan routes from west asia. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06 Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
Breakfast at hotel, Following the ancient silk route we are greeted from far by the majestic fort of jodhpur sprawled across the 125 mtrs high hill. It is the most impressive and for midable one in the fort studded rajastan . the different palaces within the fort are artistically decorated and painted and have delicately carved lattice work windows of red sandstone from every corner we have a fantastic view of the town with its blue painted Brahmin houses or of the memorial of maharajah jaswanth singh on the opposite hill umaid bhavan palace, built just before India's independence like a copy of the white house in Washington d.c has been the residence of the jodhpur rulers since the 1930's and today is also a hotel - and what a hotel !! in the afternoon stroll across the picturesque marketplace with its charming old clock towers .
Day 07 Jodhpur - Pushkar - Ajmer
Early breakfast, driver to Ajmer, Before noon we reach Ajmer, a holy city for all Muslims inside the dargah (mosque ) is the tomb of the Sufi saint khwaja -din - chisti, who came to Ajmer from Persia in 1192. Only a few kms away lies the picturesque Hindu town of pushkar having its significance rooted in myth . According to the sacred scripts , Brahma - the creator - on passing this place one day let slip from his hand a lotus flower and the water spurted forth forming the sacred lake . Around the lake you might go shopping for exotic local handicrafts . Overnight at hotel.
Day 08 Ajmer - Amber - Jaipur
Breakfast, At amber, the old capital of the jaipur rulers , a short elephant ride takes us up to the fort and palaces . They are a superb example of rajput architecture , stunningly situated on a hillside and overlooking a lake which reflects their terraces and ramparts . Afternoon sight seeing in jaipur , the pink city , founded by maharaja jai singh ii and later decorated with pink sandstone as a welcome for prince Edward . Jai singh ii was a famous and well - versed astronomer . He built jantar mantar , an observatory with interesting instruments which have not lost their validity upto date . Besides the observatory stands the city palace of jaipur , partly a museum and partly the residence of the royal family of jaipur . Overnight at hotel.
Day 09 Jaipur - Delhi
Breakfast and transfer to Railway station for your train from Jaipur to Delhi. After arrival you will be transferred to airport station for your onward destination. |
